Import Export code or IE code is a registration required for persons importing or exporting goods and services from India. It is a ten digit number allotted by Directorate General of Foreign Trade under Ministry of Commerce and Industry to person or company importing or exporting goods in India.
Document required for applying IEC Code
A. Document required for applying IEC in the case of Proprietorship Firm
Digital Photograph (3x3cms) of the Proprietor.
Copy of PAN card of the Proprietor.
Address Proof of the Proprietor – Any one of the following
Copy of Passport (first & last page)
Voter’s I-Card
Driving Licence
Aadhar card
Address Proof of Office
Sale deed in case business premise is self-owned; or
Rental/Lease Agreement, in case office is rented/ leased; or
latest electricity or telephone bill.
Bank Certificate as per ANF 2A(I)
Canceled Cheque bearing preprinted name of the applicant and A/C No.
B. Document required for applying IEC in the case of Partnership Firm / LLP
Digital Photograph (3x3cms) of the Managing/Designated Partner.
Copy of PAN card of the Partnership Firm / LLP
Address Proof of the Applicant (Managing/Designated Partner) signing the application – Any one of the following
Copy of Passport (first & last page)
Voter’s I-Card
Aadhar Card
Driving Licence
Copy of PAN Card
Copy of Partnership Deed in the case of Partnership Firm, Incorporation Certificate in the case of LLP
Address Proof of Office of the Firm / LLP
Sale deed in case business premise is self-owned or
Rental/Lease Agreement, if office is rented/ leased; or

C. Document required for applying IEC in the case of Private Limited Company:
Digital Photograph (3x3cms) of the Director of the company signing the application
Copy of PAN card of the Company
Address Proof of the Director signing the application – Any one of the following

Address Proof of Office
